One day while I was in college I lived near a girl who was getting her PhD and super busy working and studying. However, I would go over at night and find her sewing or baking or doing fun things. I didn't think that college students had time to learn knew things besides studying in school. I had always wanted to quilt. So I bought some fabric, borrowed her machine and sat down to start my first quilt. Within the next few months, I met my husband I dropped my sewing project while we dated and first got married. For our first Christmas, he bought me a nice used sewing machine off eBay. I sat down and pulled out my rag quilt and started sewing....and never stopped. I have found that sewing straight lines, adding applique to various projects and feeling soft nice fabric are 3 of my favorite things to do. It is soothing and calming after a long day of work and being a mom. I esp love keeping all my scraps and making some small with them. Over time my etsy shop has had many different faces and looks, but appliqued pillow covers are the current use of my fabric scraps...so, there you have it. Sewing is my passion behind that keeps my current life flowing.
